Cost-free graphics, images and clip art!                   ani_ball.gif (2772 bytes)  Don't forget to bookmark this site!

? Looking for a tried-an-true way to jazz up your own or your company’s web site? Then try some animated GIFs! Animated GIFs continue to be the most popular way to add movement to a Web page. Why?

The reason is that anyone can view them. No need to worry that users will need the latest computer, browser, plug-in or downloaded applet, in contrast to Dynamic HTML, Java, Flash and other formats.

Animated GIFs are based on an old animation principle, the flip book. Since an animated GIF file contains a series of individual images, the illusion of movement is created when those images are viewed in sequence. Even very small, colorful images add pizzazz!

Where can you get this art? Just about everywhere on the Web. You can literally spend days downloading images – all for FREE! But here’s the catch: Use them sparingly. Web surfers will not wait very long for pages full of graphics to download. Less is really more.

And remember something even more important: When you do download, make sure the image does not contain copyright restrictions. Read and abide by the artist’s requests. When in doubt, always ask permission.
